Completed his studies at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague in 1970. In 1975, he defended his rigorosum thesis on the topic of “The Defending Counsel’s Participation in the Pre-Trial Proceedings” and passed the rigorosum examination based on which he was awarded the degree of JUDr from the same Faculty.

For a long time, he worked as a lecturer in specialist education of articled clerks and as a examiner in Bar Exams.

He specialises in the issues of intellectual property protection. He is a member of the Czech National AIPPI Group, INTA, the Czech Group of the International League for Competition Law, Czech Bar Association’s study college section for criminal law.
